1942 Úrvalsdeild

The Icelandic Football Championship in 1942 was the 31st season of the highest Icelandic Football League.

It took five teams participate in the competition in which each team once each hit on each other. Then the top two teams played the same points in a playoff for the title. Due to a tie in the first game of this final had to be repeated. Finally Valur Reykjavík won the eighth title in club history.

As the top two teams in the final table were equal on points, the master was determined in a playoff. This had to be repeated because of a draw.
