Mode
It first four regional qualifications ( Eystan, Vestan, Midja and Suðuroy ) were held. The modes in the different regions were very different. While in Eystan three teams in the league mode determined the semi-finalists, the participants were determined in the knockout system in Midja and Suðuroy. In Midja there was only one qualifying match between two local candidates. In Vestan no qualifying matches took place, as it was only one participant who had qualified directly for the semi-finals.
The most extensive qualification existed in Suðuroy. There, six teams played in three rounds ( preliminaries, regional semifinals, regional finals) the semi-finalists.
The winners of the four regional qualifications then played in two semi-finals and the finals of the championship.
Participant
In total, twelve teams from four regions involved, as much as with any other Faroese championship.
In contrast to the championship in 1942 Royn Hvalba, SIF Sandavágur and SVB Sandvík did not participate this time.
Teams that participated for the first time are in bold.
