1948 Oujda and Jerada pogrom

The pogroms of Oujda and Jerada of 1948 were antisemitic pogroms of essential parts of the Muslim majority population in French Morocco, which took place on 7 June 1948 to 8 June of that year.

They were directed against the Jewish communities in the cities of Oujda and Jerada in Northeast Morocco.

In these events, 42 Jews were killed by Muslims and injuring an estimated 150 others. The pogroms were a response to the civil war in Palestine, in the course of which they wanted to show solidarity with the Arab Palestinians.

80,000 Moroccan Jews were later in a secret operation by Mossad in 1964 placed between November 1961 Spring out of the country called Operation Jachin.
