1960 Pacific hurricane season

The Pacific hurricane season 1960 officially began on May 15, 1960 at the Eastern Pacific Ocean and 1 June 1960 in the central Pacific. It ended on 30 November 1965. This season was the first in the Eastern Pacific storms were named, before the storms were just numbered.

During this season, eight tropical storms, five of which intensified into a hurricane formed.

Storms

Tropical Storm Annette

The tropical storm Annette was formed on June 8, south of Mexico. He moved towards the west and dissipated on June 12. The storm never hit the country and there are no damages by Annette known.

Tropical Storm Bonny

The tropical storm Bonny was formed on 22 June and moved in a northwesterly direction. The storm then turned north and then again towards the west and then dissolved on June 26, just south of Baja California, on.

Hurricane Celeste

The remnants of Hurricane Abby, which has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, moving in the eastern Pacific and intensified on 20 July there again to a hurricane. He has now been renamed Celest. Hurricane Diana

Hurricane Estelle

Estelle was formed on August 29 south-southwest of Guatemala. The storm is moving west-northwest, parallel to the coast of Mexico as a 135 km / h hurricane before extratropical on September 9. The remains of Estelle brought heavy rains over Southern California with 76.2 mm of rainfall in Julian.

Hurricane Fernanda

Tropical Storm Gwen

A tropical cyclone in the eastern Pacific, the name Gwen was given. However, the system is not in the best track data. The reason why is unknown.

Hurricane Hyacinth

Hyacinth was formed as a hurricane on October 21 and umkurvte the Mexican state of Jalisco, where it weakened to a tropical storm before it hit as a tropical depression on October 23rd at the coast. The damage of hyacinth, if any, is unknown.
