1966 Úrvalsdeild

The Icelandic Football Cup 1966 was the 55th season of the highest Icelandic Football League. The season began on May 30, 1966, ended on October 2, 1966.

It took six teams participate in the competition in which they bear to each other in a simple round-trip twice each round. Then the top two teams played the same points in a playoff for the title. Due to a tie in the first game of this final had to be repeated. The title went to a total of 13 times at Valur Reykjavík.

As the top two teams in the final table were equal on points, the master was determined in a playoff. This had to be repeated because of a draw.

Valur Reykjavík qualified as a Master for the European Cup of Champions 1967/68.
