1968 Úrvalsdeild
The Icelandic Football Championship 1968 was the 57th season of the highest Icelandic Football League. The season began on May 25, 1968, ended on 26 August 1968.
It took six teams participate in the competition in which they bear to each other in a simple round-trip twice each round. KR Reykjavík won the 20th title in the club's history. After this fifth triumph in just ten years, it would take 31 years until the next championship won in 1999.
Following the decision to conduct the league in the 1969 season with seven, and from 1970 with eight teams, the last place Keflavík ÍF did not rise directly into the second deild karla from, but denied the two best teams in the second league relegation tournament whose both best teams were entitled competes in the first league.
