1972 Meistaradeildin

The Faroese football championship in 1972 was held in the Meistaradeildin said first Faroese league and overall was the 30th season. It started on April 23, 1972 with the play of ÍF Fuglafjørður against KÍ Klaksvík and ended on 10 September 1972.

Master was KÍ Klaksvík who could thus win the title for the 15th time. Defending champions HB Tórshavn landed on the second place. Both KÍ and HB remained undefeated throughout the entire season.

In comparison to the previous season, the strike rate deteriorated to 4.43 per game. The highest win both achieved with a 8-0 HB Tórshavn in the home game against ÍF Fuglafjørður and KÍ Klaksvík at home to VB Vágur. The highest-scoring game completed ÍF Fuglafjørður and VB Vágur with a 6:4.

By a 3-3 draw by HB in the away game against TB Tvøroyri KÍ could reach a point forward, which could be defended to the end of the season, as well as the return match between the two teams went out in Tórshavn 1:1.
