1994 UEFA European Under-16 Championship

The 12 U-16 Football Championship was held in the period from April 26 to May 8, 1994 in Ireland. It was the first UEFA tournament in Ireland. Winners Turkey was a 1-0 victory over Denmark. Germany was third in the group and already retired from after the first round. Defending Poland as well as the previous year's final opponents Italy could not qualify.

Mode

The 16 qualified teams were divided into four groups of four teams each. Within the groups played each team once against each other. For the first time for a win three points were awarded for a draw, there was still a point. The group winners and runners reached the quarter- finals. From there it went on in the all-in - system.

Preliminary round

Group A

Belarus and Austria completed the first round dot and torgleich. The direct comparison was a draw. Therefore, a penalty shoot-out to the first group place was set, which won Belarus.

Group B

All games took place in Dublin.

Group C

Due to the direct comparison was Russia group first, Denmark second in the group and Germany third in the group.
