2000 West Asian Football Federation Championship

The Football West Asia Championship 2000 was the first issue of Organised by the West Asian Football Federation tournament and was held from 23 May to 3 June 2000 in Amman, Jordan instead. All matches were played in the King Abdullah Stadium.

Winner of the tournament was the team from Iran, which prevailed in the final against Syria 1-0. The winning goal scored Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh after 36 minutes. Iraq, who provided the top scorer of the tournament with Razzaq Farhan, won the third place after a 4-1 over host Jordan.

In addition to the six member states of the WAFF Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan had been invited as guests, so that a total of eight teams competed.
