2001 UEFA European Under-18 Championship

The 17 U-18 Football Championship was held in the period from July 21 to 29, 2001 in Finland. The winner was Poland with a 3-1 victory over the Czech Republic. Germany as well as defending champions France, Austria and Switzerland could not qualify. The last time was the age limit of 18 years. For the next tournament, the UEFA increased the age limit to 19 years.

Mode

The eight teams are split into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team plays once against each other. The two group winners reach the final while the runners-up for the third place play.
