( 20016 ) Rietschel is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on October 8, 1991 by the German astronomer frankness Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg (IAU code 033) in Thuringia.

The asteroid was named after the German sculptor of the late classicism Ernst Rietschel (1804-1861), who was one of the most important monument artists of his time and created among others the Lessing monument in Braunschweig.
