2008 FIFA World Player of the Year

The World Player of the Year 2008 was announced on 12 January 2009 at the Zurich Opera House. It was the 18th of the award was introduced in 1991 by the football body FIFA award " World Player of the Year." Winner of the award was Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tuning mode

The winner was determined by a vote among 155 national team coaches and captains of 155 national team. Each of these named the three best footballers in their opinion, none of the three could come from their own country. One response to square one brought five points, second place three points, third place a point. Then the points were summed.
