2009 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2009 is the fifth edition of the World Cup tournament for men in beach soccer, organized by FIFA. For the second time after 2008 (France) it was held not in Brazil, but in the United Arab Emirates. All 32 games were held from November 16 to 22 in Dubai.

In the group stage, there were four groups of four teams that played against each other in each case, where three points were awarded for a win, two points for a win after extra time or penalty shoot-out, and no points for a defeat. In case of equality, the direct comparison decided. After the group stage the tournament in the elimination system was continued.

The match for third place resulted in two records. It is the highest-scoring match in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Furthermore shot of Portugal Käpitan Madjer seven goals. The number of goals still get any player in a single game.
