2009 UEFA Women's U-17 Championship

The second U-17 Football Championship Women was held from 22 to 25 June, 2009 Nyon ( Switzerland ). Venue was the Centre sportif de Colovray. Game were eligible players who were born on 1 January 1992 or later. Defending champion Germany sat down in the final against Spain by 7-0. Scorer was the German Kyra Malinowski with eight goals.

Qualification

The European Championship is organized in three stages. In two qualifying rounds, the four participants will be determined in the final round.

In the first qualifying round, the 40 teams entered the participants played in ten groups of four teams each in the second qualifying round. Within each group played each team once against each other in the form of a mini-tournament. One of the four participating teams of each group served as the host of this mini-tournament. A victory is rewarded with three points, a draw one point.

The group winners and the six best runners-up will qualify for the second qualifying round. In determining the best runners only the games against the group winners and third parties are taken into account. The 16 remaining teams were again divided by lot into four groups of four teams each. The mode is identical to the first qualifying round. The group winners of the four mini-tournaments will qualify for the finals.

Mode

The four teams determine the European Champion in the knockout system. The winners of the semifinals to reach the final and play the European champions. The losers play for third place. A game lasts regularly twice 40 minutes. Is it the end of regulation time draw as the game twice to ten minutes longer. If there's still no decision have fallen, the decision is in the penalty shootout.

Final round

Semifinal

In the first semifinal, the two finals newcomers clashed. Already after ten minutes brought Amanda Sampedro the Spaniards in front. Seven minutes after the restart Esther González scored the 2-0, which was the final score at the same time. In the last year finals reprint Germany and France clashed. Kyra Malinowski brought the German team after 30 minutes on the clock. Just four minutes later, the French women were able to compensate by Anais Ribeyra. In the 36th minute Annika Doppler presented the German leadership restored. In the second half, Malinowski managed two more goals that brought the defending champions the final.

3rd Place Match

After a scoreless first half, Catherine Dekkerhus brought the Norwegians in the lead. A double whammy of Anaïs Ribeyra turned the game. In injury time saw the substitute Tatiana Solanet for the final score.

Final

Already after three minutes brought Nicole Rolser the German team in the lead. Scorer Kyra Malinowski increased in the 17th minute for a 2-0 half-time. After the restart, Malinowski scored a hat-trick within nine minutes and was responsible for the preliminary decision. Johanna Elsig from the penalty spot and once again Malinowski in the final minute ensured in the 67th minute for the final score.

Scorer inside the overall competition were jointly the German Kyra Malinowski and the Frenchwoman Anaïs Ribeyra have a total of 12 goals in qualifying and finals.
