2012 KT42

2012 is a near-Earth asteroid KT42 from Apollo type. He was discovered by Alex R. Gibbs on Mount Lemmon Observatory ( observatory code G96 ) of the Catalina Sky Survey on 28 May 2012. 2012 KT42 passed by the Earth on May 29, 2012 in a distance of about 14,400 kilometers. He came closer to Earth than the orbit of geostationary satellites. It has an estimated diameter of 4 to 10 meters.

There was no danger of collision with the Earth and the asteroid was therefore removed from the monitoring list of NASA on 30 May 2012.
