2014 AA

2014 AA is the name for a small asteroid ( 2-3 m diameter), which was discovered on 1 January 2014 as part of the Catalina Sky Survey by Richard Kowalski. After reporting to the Minor Planet Center stood in calculating the path parameter out that the asteroid would likely occur in the early morning hours of January 2 over the Atlantic Ocean in the Earth's atmosphere. This was only the second time ( after 2008 TC3 ) that a celestial body was discovered before its collision with the Earth. The small asteroid is expected to be almost completely burn up because of its small size. The infrasound of the event could be recorded from three stations. From the data determined Peter Brown of the University of Western Ontario atmospheric entry at about 40 ° West and 12 ° North.
