2014 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship

The final round of the seventh CONCACAF U -20 Women's Championship was held in the period from 9 to 19 January 2014, to the Cayman Islands. Eight teams came first in a group stage into two groups and then in the knockout system against each other. All games were in the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands discharged. The tournament served as a qualifier for the U -20 World Cup 2014 in Canada, for which qualified the top three teams. Canada qualify automatically as hosts for the U -20 World Cup in 2014 and therefore did not take part in the CONCACAF U- 20 Championship 2014. The winner was the third time in a row and the crew of the U.S. for the fourth time.

Qualification

The Cayman Islands were automatically qualified as hosts, in addition to the teams from the United States and Mexico did not have to qualify separately. The remaining 22 reported national teams played, separated representatives from Central America and the Caribbean, mini-tournaments to qualify for the CONCACAF U- 20 Championship 2014. Here, Honduras, Costa Rica and Guatemala in Central America qualified, as well as Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago from the Caribbean. For Honduras, the participation in the tournament in 2014, as well as for the host, a first in this age group.

Mode

In the final round of the eight teams formed two groups of four teams. In the group stage, each team played in the group once against each other. For a victory, there were three points for a draw one point. After completion of the group matches, the group winners and runners-up qualified for the semifinals from which the tournament was continued in the knockout system.
