2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship

The Volleyball Women's World Cup 2014 will be held until October 12 in Italy from September 23. Addition to the host 23 other teams to take part.

Mode

The tournament begins with a preliminary round in four groups (A -D), each with six teams. The four best teams from each group to reach the second round, which will be played in two groups of eight participants. The World Cup will be held in six Italian cities. The games take place in Rome, Trieste, Verona, Bari, Modena and Milan.

Qualification

The continental qualifying matches will be played from April 2012 to July 2014. Italy is set to host. Around the world, 141 nations compete for the remaining 23 places in the finals.

Europe

Russia as a European champion and the EM- finalist Germany are directly qualified. The remaining European teams determined in qualifying six other participants. In the first round occurred in May 2013 29 teams in seven groups. The group winners reached the third round, while the runners-up playing off three more places in an additional round in October. The third round with ten other seeded teams took place between January 5, 2014 from 3. The winners of the five groups of four and the two best runners qualified for the World Cup finals. Asia

North and Central America

The qualification of the NORCECA began in 2012. During the first round eight tournaments in four or triplets were held in which 23 teams qualified for the second round. South America

Brazil is qualified as winners of the volleyball World Grand Prix 2013. Three other teams determined the second participant in a tournament from 18 to 20 October 2013. Here, hosts Argentina prevailed.
