( 3228 ) Pire is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on February 8, 1935 in Ukkel by the Belgian astronomer Sylvain Julien Victor Arend.

The naming of the asteroid was made in honor of Georges Pire, a Belgian Dominican monk who in 1958 was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
