38 Bootis is a star in the constellation Bootes. It has an apparent magnitude of 5.7 mag and belongs to the spectral class F6 to IVs. The removal of the freiäugig just visible star is about 160 light-years.

The star bears the historical proper names Merga ( from Arabic المرأة المسلسلة, DMG al -mar ʾ at al - musalsala, also " falx Italica " or " Marrha ").
