( 4009 ) is a main-belt asteroid Drobyshevskij, which was discovered on March 13, 1977 by Nikolai Stepanovich Chernykh from the Crimean observatory.

The asteroid was named after Edward Mikhailovich Drobyschewski ( b. 1936 ), a physicist and astrophysicist from the Technological Institute of Saint Petersburg.
