47 Ursae Majoris b is an exoplanet of the main sequence star 47 Ursae Majoris encircles all 1039 days. Due to its high mass is assumed that it is a gas planet. The planet was discovered in 1996.

Discovery

As the majority of exoplanets was this using the radial velocity method discovered. The planet was discovered by Geoffrey Marcy and R. Paul Butler.

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits its star at a distance of approximately 2.13 astronomical units and has a mass of about 836.1 Earth masses and 2.63 Jupiter masses.
