Classic era in Greece (since about 500 BC)
The year 492 BC brings after the suppression of the Ionian revolt the first campaign against the Persians, the Greek motherland. It succeeds the Persian generals Mardonius though, Thrace and Macedonia incorporate the Achaemenid Empire, after his fleet failed in a storm, he must cancel the campaign, however, again.

Persian Wars
The Persian commander Mardonius, married to Artazostre, the daughter of the Great King Darius I, leads the first Perserzug against Thrace and Macedonia. Greece
Probably around 492 BC, the Greek philosopher Heraclitus completed his untitled work, which later under the name On the Nature ( Περὶ φύσεως ) is known. The work is lost as a whole, but the image convey the ancient doxographic sources from him, largely with the state of knowledge, to yield the fragments obtained coincides. Therefore, it is assumed that only about half of the original text is lost. Works by partially clear later authors such as Plato, Aristotle, Diogenes Laertius, Clement of Alexandria and Hippolytus of Rome contain mostly analogous, rarely verbatim quotes from the original writing of Heraclitus.
