( 6035 ) Pico de Orizaba is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the Observatoire de Haute- Provence ( observatory code 511) was discovered in southeastern France on 27 July 1987.

The asteroid is named after the nearby in the Sierra Volcánica transverse near the city of Orizaba volcano Pico de Orizaba, which is the highest volcano in North America as well as the highest mountain in Mexico with its height of 5636 m.
