(7867) Burian

( 7867 ) Burian is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which on 20 September 1984 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos on Kleť Observatory (IAU code 046) was discovered in Český Krumlov.

Mean distance from the sun ( semimajor axis), eccentricity and inclination of the orbital plane of the asteroid similar to the path data of the members of the Flora family, a large group of asteroids that is named after ( 8) flora. Asteroids of this family move in an orbital resonance of 4:9 with the planet Mars around the Sun. The group is also called Ariadne family after the asteroid (43 ) Ariadne.

( 7867 ) Burian is named after the Czech draftsman and graphic artist Zdeněk Burian, who is best known for his illustrations of books about prehistoric animals and humans. The naming of ( 7867 ) Burian was proposed by the Czech astronomer Miloš Tichý Jiří Borovička by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) on 23 May 2000.
