( 85197 ) Ginkgo is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which was discovered by the German astronomer frankness Börngen and Lutz D. Schmadel on October 5, 1991 at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg (IAU code 033).

The asteroid was named at the suggestion of sincerity Börngen after the Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba), a tree species. Generality was given the appointment by publication by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) on 7 April 2005.
