( 8749 ) The Beatles is an asteroid of the main belt, which was named after the famous rock band The Beatles. He was discovered by Australian amateur astronomer John Broughton at his private observatory, the Reedy Creek Observatory ( IAU code 428), in Queensland, Australia on 3 April 1998.
