( 9307 ) Regiomontanus is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which was discovered by the German astronomer frankness Börngen on 21 August 1987 at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg (IAU code 033).

The asteroid Vesta is a member of the family, a large group of asteroids, named after ( 4) Vesta, the second largest asteroid and the third-largest celestial body of the main belt. The timeless ( nichtoskulierenden ) orbital elements of ( 9307 ) Regiomontanus are almost identical with those of five smaller asteroids, if one of the absolute brightness of 16.1, 15.8, 15.6, 16.1 and 17.3 vs. 14 3 starts: ( 67365 ) 2000 LA23, ( 67973 ) 2000 XV5, ( 72022 ) 2000 XE22, ( 162673 ) 2008 SF304 and ( 310 886 ) 2003 QK24.

( 9307 ) Regiomontanus was appointed on 2 February 1999 at the suggestion of sincerity Börngen after the mathematician and astronomer of the late Middle Ages Regiomontanus. After Regiomontanus a lunar crater in the southern hemisphere moon was in 1935 been named: Moon crater Regiomontanus.
