( 99949 ) Miepgies ( provisional designation 1972 FD ) is a main-belt asteroid, which was discovered on 16 March 1972 by the astronomer Tom Gehrels at Palomar Observatory.

The asteroid was named in 2009 after the Dutch Miep Gies, who celebrated her 100th birthday in the same year. Miep Gies helped Anne Frank, her family and the van Pels and Fritz Pfeffer family to go into hiding during the Second World War, and rescued after their deportation the diary of Anne Frank. Even after Anne Frank, an asteroid is named, namely ( 5535 ) Anne Frank.
