History

The phrase " It's a kind of magic " ( "it's a kind of magic " ) is used in the film by Christopher Lambert, to make what Roger Taylor inspired from an entire song. In the song, there are other allusions to the film: " One prize, one goal ", "no mortal can win this one day" or " there can be only one" ( " there can be only one ", the subtitle of the film).

Freddie Mercury added the piece to add a new bass line and arranged the song again. Mercury then produced this new version with David Richards. Mercury's version was on the album, Taylor's version can be heard at the end of the film, it was not released on disc until 2011, when she appeared as a Highlander version on an extra -EP re- release of the album.

Performance

On the Magic Tour, Queens last original members, the song was often played. In the later Rock the Cosmos Tour Roger Taylor took over the vocals.
