Un Mundo Misterioso ( German " Mysterious World") is the second feature film by the Argentine film director and screenwriter Rodrigo Moreno from the year 2011., The film tells the story of Boris, played by Esteban Bigliardi who is dumped by his girlfriend at the time and then must find their way alone in the world. At the end of the film he and his girlfriend come together again. Un Mondo Misterioso was performed in competition at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival in February 2011, but received mainly negative reviews here.

Action

At the beginning of the film, which takes place in Buenos Aires, Boris and Ana are in the morning in bed together and she tells him that they should separate for some time. Then he reacts only with the question of how much time they mean, then, and repeated this question several times. Boris pulls into a hotel and now has to find their way alone in life. He buys an old built in Romania car that has always prepared technical problems. About an old friend from his school days he gets in a circle of friends, at whose party he is rather confused and not really part of it. Towards morning he kisses Odette before it breaks up, with the other friends to Montevideo ( Uruguay) where they want to spend New Year's Eve and New Year together. Boris is to meet them. His car has a greater breakdown, so he brings it to a repair shop, and Boris begins to take the bus and follows women on the street. The first goes to her friend, the second he follows in a bar and then in a casino. Spend the night both in his hotel room. Boris breaks then on to Uruguay. There, however, no one gets it from the port, so that he returns and spends New Year's Eve with his mechanic. When his car is working again, he goes home to Ana. While he is up in the apartment, his car is stolen, but he does not do anything against it, but sees only. At the end of Boris and Ana sitting together on the bed and hold hands while listening to a record.

Background

In Un Mundo Misterioso is the second long feature film by Rodrigo Moreno. With his debut feature El Custodio ( The bodyguard ), he was already represented at the 56th Berlin International Film Festival in 2006 and won the Alfred Bauer Prize. Un Mundo Misterioso ran in competition at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival. The film was produced by Rizoma Films, co-producers were raw film in Berlin and Control Z in Montevideo. The production was also supported by the ZDF and artes. The worldwide distribution took over The Match Factory. Moreno looks in this film to be quite distant love and identity that seeks Boris, which he negotiated the issue raised by festival director Dieter Kosslick theme of universal desolation.

Criticism

The film was mostly negative reviews. Jutta Louise Oechler criticized for aspects that Un Mundo Misterioso is boring and Boris do not touch as a character. For it remains a mystery why anyone should watch this film. This criticism tells Stefan Kuzmany in the Berlinale blog on Spiegel Online. For him, this movie is extremely boring, he misses action in this movie. Kuzmany also draws attention to the fact that Buenos Aires in spite of the blue sky on the viewer seems bleak. Matthias Wulff, who peer reviewed the film for the Berliner Morgenpost, but there are good sides won the film towards the end of the competition. He wrote: "At the beginning of the film festival you would probably have asked: What should such a movie? Today we are grateful for the level-headed camera work, a bit of action in a strip that is so inconsequential like a day without excitement, on the one but still would not want to miss. "
