Abádszalók

Abádszalók is a town of some 4,000 inhabitants ( as of 2011) in the Northern Great Plain of Hungary in Jász -Nagykun -Szolnok. It is located about 50 kilo Menter south of Eger at the southern end of Lake Tisza and is a resort for tourists visiting the Lake Tisza or the nearby Puszta.

The first mention of the town dates from 1271, since 1717 it is then continuously inhabited. It arose from a repeated association and separation of the communities Tiszaabád and Tiszaszalók. 1740 settled here about 44 artisan families from Germany, whose descendants live to the present here.
