Aban, Russia
Aban (Russian Абан ) is a settlement in Krasnoyarsk in Russia. It has 9187 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) and is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons Aban.
History
The spot on the river Aban from the river system of the Yenisei was founded in 1762. Since the 1980s, Brown Coal is mined in an open pit nearby, and there are in place timber and food industries. From 1964 to 2006, the place had the status of an urban-type settlement.
