F Abǎrim is the name of a mountain range in present-day Jordan, which is called in the Old Testament.

Location

It runs in a north-south direction east along the Dead Sea, from Nebo in the north to the Arabian desert.

Mention in the Bible

In the illustration of the Bible which belonged to Moab Mountains (Palestine). In the Vulgate, the etymological meaning of the name is given as " pass" in the 5th book of Leviticus 32,49. The northern part was also called Pisgah or Phasga (4th book of Genesis 23.14; 27.12; 21.20; 32.47; fifth book of Genesis 3.27, 34.1, 32.49 ).

From the highest summit of Pisgah, that is from Mount Nebo, Moses looked over the Promised Land before his death (5th book of Genesis 3.27, 32.49 ) and died there ( Deut. 34,1,5 ). As Balaam blessed Israel the second time, he did it from Phasga from (4th book of Leviticus 23,14 ). Jeremiah hid the ark also ( 2 Maccabees 2, 4-5). The Israelites struck in Abǎrim a bearing on (4th Book of Moses, from 33.47 to 48 ).
