Abbaye de Keur Moussa

The Monastery of Keur Moussa is an abbey near Kaolack, Senegal. The inhabited by Benedictine monks, the monastery is known for its Sunday fairs, in which the monks cultivate the art of Gregorian chant, and complement with indigenous melodies and instruments. It is sung, danced and drummed the whole Mass is omitted.

Keur Moussa is located about 20 kilometers from Dakar and is easy to reach, for example, if one makes the Lac Rose Quarter or is on the way to the fishing village Kayar.
