Abdelhak Benchikha

Abdelhak Benchikha ( born November 22, 1963 in Algiers ) is a retired Algerian football player and current football coach. Most recently, he coached the Algerian national football team.

Career

As a player

Abdelhak Benchikha was born in Algiers, more precisely in the quarter Casbah. But his family is originally from Bordj Bou Arreridj, about 200 kilometers from Algiers.

Benchikha played until 1984 in the youth of USM Alger and came from there in the first team of MC Alger. Unfortunately, years of data about his club stays as an active football players are not available. Benchikha played further for JS Bordj Ménaïel, JS El Biar and even in Tunisia Espérance Sportive de Zarzis at.

As a coach

His coaching career began in 1999 with CR Belouizdad as assistant coach and was able to celebrate with the team for the seasons 1999/ 00 and 2000/ 01 the championship. After he has coached for a short time the MC Alger and the Algerian U-23 national team, he returned at the end of the season 2004/ 05 back to Belouizdad. The 2005/06 season coached the Umm - Salal SC Benchikha from Qatar and managed from the Second Division as champions in the Qatar Stars League ascend. On 10 June 2009, he became the new coach of the Algerian A ' National Team (ie only from the Algerian league of its own ) and the U-23 national team. With the A ' national team, he managed a 1-0 home win and a 1:2 away defeat in the playoffs against Libya a place in the final of the African Nations Cup 2011.

On 13 September 2010 he was the senior national team of Algeria as the successor of Rabah Saâdane. But on June 5, 2011, he resigned from his post after a 0-4 defeat against Morocco during qualifying for the African Cup of Nations in 2012.

For the new season, he coached again the MC Alger, but after only four games he threw in the towel again and left the club.

Since 16 December 2011, he trained again the Tunisian tradition Club Africain Tunis. But its still running for a year contract is canceled by mutual agreement on April 22, 2012.
