Abdemon

Abdemon (Greek Ἀβδήμων ) was at the end of the 5th century BC king of Salamis in Cyprus.

Life

Abdemon was of Phoenician origin and either came from Tyre, where the name is more commonly assigned, or from Kition in Cyprus. To 415 BC he killed a native of Tyre usurper of Salamis. The allegedly a Greek dynasty ( Teukriden ) belonging Evagoras I. fled to Soli in Cilicia, but came to 410 BC back with followers and plunged Abdemon.
