Abelardo L. Rodríguez

Abelardo Rodríguez Luján ( born May 12, 1889 in San José de Guaymas, † February 3, 1967 in La Jolla ) was September 4, 1932 to November 30, 1934 to the President of Mexico.

Rodríguez came from a poor family in Sonora. He fought in the Mexican Revolution in 1913 and was quickly promoted. In 1916 he became a colonel in 1921 and designated, military commander of Baja California. 1923 to 1929 he was head of that state. In 1932 he was Pascual Ortiz Rubio War and Navy Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs of the Government.

On September 4, prompted Plutarco Elías Calles Ortiz to resign and Abelardo Rodríguez Luján was instead for the rest of the period designated President. During his tenure, he established various financial institutions and led the education on a socialist basis again in Mexico. He extended the tenure of the President and from four to six years and introduced a minimum wage.

On November 30, 1934 ended his term in office and he retired for some time out of politics. In 1943, he came back and was elected governor of Sonora. During this time he had special attention to education. He founded as the University of Sonora. In 1948, he finally came back for health reasons. He died in the United States.
