Abell 262

Abell 262 is a cluster of galaxies in the constellation Andromeda, on the border with Triangulum. Abell 262 includes over 100 galaxies and is part of the Pisces- Perseus supercluster. The approximately 200 million light-years distant clusters is relatively loose and contains relatively many spiral galaxies.

In the center of Abell 262 is the elliptical cD galaxy NGC 708; next to it are found in its center the galaxies NGC 703 and NGC 705, and the pair of galaxies NGC 704 to further outwardly disposed members include the vast and bright elliptical galaxy NGC 759

Members

The following table lists some of the members of the cluster. Its members include more in the New General Catalogue posted galaxies, including NGC 700, NGC 709 and NGC 710

The four located in the central region of the cluster galaxies have been discovered in September 1786 by William Herschel NGC 704 on 12, NGC 703, NGC 705 and NGC 708 on September 21. NGC 700 was discovered on 12 October 1855 by William Parsons, NGC 709 on 18 November 1877 by Johan Dreyer. The galaxies NGC 710 and NGC 759 were both discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest, the former on August 12, 1863, temptation 1865.
