Abigail (singer)

Abigail (real name Abigail Zsiga ) is a British singer and songwriter. It is one of the most successful representatives from the field of Hi- NRG music.

Career

Abigail was initially a studio singer for the Love Decade project and sang in 1992 as Gail in their chart hit I Feel You.

After that, she began her solo career. The single Could It Be Magic debuted at number 1 on the UK Hi- NRG Club chart and became thus to their first major success.

In the following years they released several dance versions of international hits. With Constant Craving ( originally recorded by the Canadian singer KD Lang) they became well known abroad; in the U.S. was the title as much as 19 weeks at the top of the DMA Hi- NRG Club Chart. Smells Like Teen Spirit, originally performed by Nirvana, got to number 29 on the UK Singles charts and gave her even more attention in Germany. The third well-known cover was Losing My Religion by REM. Success of the singles eventually led to the making of the album Feel Good, which was released in 33 countries in 1995. For the album, she received several dance music awards.

Following the release of a remix EP and a club tour they withdrew for a time from public life and brought a daughter into the world.

Abigail signed in 1998 a contract with Interhit Records. In collaboration with Janice Robinson ( from the Italian group Livin ' Joy) was the title Let the Joy Fly, was published in 1999 and was able to continue on the previous successes. With the publish it in singles If It Do not Fit, and You Set Me Free Abigail recorded two number-one hits on the official U.S. dance charts. All three titles have been produced by Dance duo Thunderpuss.

2006 saw the second album Home ... Again, from the single Songbird was disengaged.

2010 the third album Be Still My Soul, which is a complete change in style to Abigail's earlier works, especially contemplative, Christian religious hymns includes.

Social Commitment

Abigail support the human rights organization, Love146, which works against the abduction and exploitation of children.
