Abney Park (band)

Abney Park is a Steampunk band from Seattle. The band mixes in their music elements of dark wave, post-industrial, alternative rock and film music, her work is also influenced by world music.

Abney Park played so far in all of North America at events such as Dragon * Con, the Saturnilla, the Utah Dark Arts Festival, the Bats Day, the " Convergence " festival, and the Mask and Veil.

Band History

Abney Park was founded in 1997 by Robert Brown. In 1998 they released their first full-length album Abney Park and in 1999 they finally brought Return to the Fire out. Title of these two albums dive along with some new songs on their third release on the title Cemetery Number 1 In the early years of Abney Park their style tended more toward musical.

In 2005, the band Taxidermy brought out a collection of new versions of songs of their previous albums, three live recordings and two cover versions. In the same year they started their current external style Steampunk convert. In 2006 she brought out then the album The Death of Tragedy. Following the publication also changed the occupation with the departure of Traci Nemeth, Krzysztof Nemeth and Robert Hazelton, replaced by Magdalene Veen, Jean -Paul Mayden and Nathaniel Johnstone. Shortly thereafter, Mayden left the band and was replaced by Daniel C. Magdalene Veen left, meanwhile the band to concentrate on their art. It was replaced by Finn Claret. As part of its transformation, the members of the band invented fictional images of themselves with a complete background story about the band as crew of the airship HMS Ophelia.

The band's music was also published on many compilations including Cleopatra Records ' The Unquiet Grave vol. III, Annihilation and Seduction, Eighteen and is also represented on many film soundtracks, including Insomnis Amour, Goth, and Lord of the Vampires.
