Abraham-Louis Perrelet

Abraham -Louis Perrelet ( born January 9, 1729 Neuchâtel, † 1826 ) was a Swiss clockmaker and inventor. He is parallel to Hubert Sarton as the inventor of the automatic winding for pocket watches with rotor and changer.

Life and work

Abraham -Louis Perrelet created the son of a farmer and carpenter at an early age technical components for watchmakers in the area around Le Locle. After his training as a watchmaker, he worked on improving the accuracy of clocks and pocket watches built in its diverse inhibitions as anchor escapement and duplex escapement.
