Absynthe Minded

Absynthe Minded is a Belgian rock band around the singer and guitarist Bert Ostyn.

History

Bert Ostyn was from 1999, first as a solo artist active. In 2000 he founded together with other musicians, the band Tao Tse Tse who renamed in 2002 in Absynthe Minded Quartet. Under this NAMEM they toured as the opening act alone, and for various other bands and artists, including Spinvis and Zita Swoon.

2003, they issued their first album History makes Science Fiction EP. The musicians were Renaud Ghilbert, Sergej van Bouwel and Jan Duthoy it came up the drummer Jakob Nachtergaele. " Quartet" was deleted from the band's name.

In 2004 they gave the album Acquired out button. New Day was started in January 2005. After a tour through Belgium and the Netherlands, they recorded 16 songs and put out an album in March in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. In the summer of New Day came out in Portugal. From this album comes the first single from Absynthe Minded My Heroics, Part One, which was played a lot on the radio.

In 2007, the album Absynthe Minded There Is Nothing. In August 2009, the album Absynthe Minded was released in Belgium and the Netherlands.

In January 2010, Absynthe Minded was with four Music Industry Awards in the categories "Hit of the Year", " Best Album ", awarded "Best Rock / Alternative " and " Best Band ".
