Abulfaz Elchibey

Elçibəy was born Əbülfəz Qədirqulu oglu Əliyev in the former Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan. With the beginning of his anti-communist activities, he changed his family name in Elçibəy.

Əbülfəz Elçibəy studied Arabic and oriental studies at the State University in Baku. End of the 1970s he was interned. This was due to his alleged " anti-Soviet " propaganda.
