Abydenos was an ancient Greek historian.
He wrote a history of the Chaldeans and Assyrians ( περὶ Ἀσσυρίων ), which was used by Eusebius from Caesarea and others. Some fragments have been preserved in the Praeparatio Evangelica of Eusebius and directed against the Emperor Julian the work of Cyril of Alexandria. The works are mainly based on excerpts from Alexander polymath, itself based on Berossus. About his life nothing is known, due to linguistic criteria it is dated to the 2nd century.
