The Academy of Management Journal ( AMJ ) is published six times a year academic journal on issues of management research. The published articles are subjected to peer review. The magazine ranking VHB- JOUR QUAL (2008) classifies the magazine in the best category A , the magazine 's ranking of Handelsblatt business economists rankings (2009) classifies it in the best category 1.00. The magazine ranking of the British Association of Business Schools ( 2010) classifies it in the best category 4.

The Impact Factor of the Academy of Management Journal was in 2012 at 5,906. With this impact factor, the journal was in the statistics of the Social Sciences Citation Index to 3 out of 116 journals in the Business category. In the management category, the magazine ranked Rank 3 of 174 journals. Only two economics journals, the Academy of Management Review and the Journal of Management were cited more frequently than the 2012 Academy of Management Journal.
