Academy of Music (Ljubljana)

The Academy of Music in Ljubljana (also: Academy of Music Ljubljana, Slovenian: Academia za glass ins v Ljubljani ), together with the Academy of Arts Ljubljana and the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television is one of three art schools in Ljubljana and part of the University of Ljubljana.

The Academy of Music in Ljubljana is the only music university in Slovenia and it is a training center for the majority of Slovenian composers, conductors and music educators; but also many foreign students study at the Music Academy.

The Academy of Music in Ljubljana was founded in 1939 and was at that time out of the Conservatory of Music Ljubljana. The first rector of the Academy was Julij Betetto.
