Acanceh

Acanceh is the main town of the same name in the Mexican state of Yucatán Munizips.

The prehispanic settlement dates back to the Early Classic period. The modern building complex can be only selectively determine the size of the pre-Hispanic city. The preserved remains of buildings are from the classical period of Mayan culture. A total of 300 were localized to the remains of constructions in the urban area and its immediate surroundings.

The Pyramids

The pyramids are located on the north side of the square next to the church. The higher 15 m southern pyramid consists of three stages with stairs on all sides and has a lower side length of 32 m.
