Accel World

Accel World (Japaneseアクセル·ワールド, Akuseru Warudo ) is a light novel series of the Japanese author Reki Kawahara with illustrations of the artist HIMA, which will be published in February 2009 in ASCII Media Works Dengeki Bunko imprint upon.

The novel series was adapted by three manga series and an anime television series by the animation studio Sunrise.

Action

The action takes place in the future and follows the diminutive and overweight students Haruyuki Arita. He is brought to participate in a virtual but forbidden game called Brain Burst, which allows players to slow down time in the real world very much and use it for their own advantage, so long as it is not for lack of success in the game of the classmate Kuroyukihime to excrete.

Formation and Publications

Reki Kawahara published in November / December, a first version of the story under the title Chōzetsu Kasoku Burst Linker (超絶 加速 バースト·リンカー, Chōzetsu Kasoku Basuto Rinka, dt "superior acceleration Burst Linker " ) in the network. Under the title Accel World, he won the grand prize so the Dengeki Novel Prize 2008.

Subsequently, the publication started by ASCII Media Works on 10 February 2009 at the Dengeki Bunko imprint. The illustrations are by the artist HIMA. To date (February 2014) published by the still ongoing series of novels 16 volumes.

By 2012, 2.8 million copies of the series have been sold.

In the U.S., the series of novels by Yen Press licensed and is to appear in July 2014.

Adaptations

Manga

By Publisher ASCII Media Works published three manga series of different orientation.

The first series Accel World is a direct translation of the novel series in the manga format by Hiroyuki Aigamo. This appears since 5/2010 of 10 April 2010 at the magazine Dengeki Bunko Magazine. The chapters have been (as of February 2014) summarized in four anthologies ( tankōbon ), one fifth was announced on February 27, 2014. On February 14, 2014 Yen Press announced also this manga to have licensed to appear in the U.S. in the fall.

A parody as Yonkoma manga called Acchel World. (あくちぇる·わーるど. ) Ran in the same issue. This is drawn by Akari Ryuryū and also appeared in the previous three anthologies.

Accel World / Dural Magisa Garden (アクセル·ワールド/デュラルマギサ·ガーデン, Akuseru Warudo / Dyuraru Magisa Gaden ) is a spin -off and other characters and own story, in which the main characters in the novel have only supporting roles. This is drawn by Ayato Sasakura and appears in the Comic Dengeki Daio since issue 3/2012 of 27 January 2012. Previously, the chapters have been summarized in three anthologies.

Anime

Based on the first four volumes of the novel of the same name was a 24- episode anime television series Accel World. It was implemented by the animation studio Sunrise and directed by Masakazu Obara. The first broadcast took place from 7th April to 22nd September 2012 after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) on the Japanese Tokyo MX stations and TV Saitama. In the following days also began the transmitter Chiba TV, TV Kanagawa, TV Aichi, MBS, AT- X, HBC, RKB, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11, and Kids Station with the broadcast. In parallel, the series was also offered on various streaming platforms such as Bandai Channel, Smile Namahōsō ( Nico Nico Douga ) or PlayStation Store on the Internet.

The consequences have also been published at 25 June 2012 to 27 February 2013, eight DVDs and Blu-rays. The limited versions also contained anime adaptations of Yonkoma parody Acchel World.

Synchronization

For Sachika Misawa, this was her first leading role, after she had finished school in 2011. The author of the original novel Reki Kawahara also had a cameo role in which he speaks a bespectacled robot resulted in 5.

Computer Games

Banpresto developed two battle video games for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Portable, which were published by Namco Bandai Games. Accel World - Gin'yoku no Kakusei (アクセル·ワールド ─ 銀翼 の 覚醒 ─, Akuseru Warudo - Gin'yoku no Kakusei ) was published on 13 September 2012, and Accel World - Kasoku no Choten (アクセル·ワールド ─ 加速 の 頂点 ─, Akuseru Warudo - Kasoku no Choten ) The limited versions each contain an Anime extra episode on January 31, 2013:. Accel World # EX01 - Reverberation; Zankyō ( Reverberation ;残 响) and Accel World # EX02 - Vacation; Onsen ( Vacation ;温泉).
