AcetoneISO

AcetoneISO is a free software for creating and editing of ISO -9660 memory dump files. In addition to the original KDE version exists with xAcetoneISO2 also a GNOME version.

Functionality

With AcetoneISO can access the contents of image files in various formats, integrated the content into the file system, the images can be written to optical media and also creates images. In addition to the eponymous ISO 9660 format and Nero's NRG, BIN, MDF, IMG, and other relevant formats can be processed. The images can be integrated using FUSE without administrator rights.

Availability

It is widely used for Unix -like operating systems available as free software in the source code under the terms of version 3 of the GNU General Public License ( GPL). In many popular Linux distributions, it can be installed directly from the standard repositories.

Development

It is developed under the direction of Marco di Antonio in C and has a Qt based graphical user interface 4.

Its development began as a shell script to mount and unmount an ISO image in the file system. Version 0.1 was released on 29 August 2006. For a day later released version 1.0, the scripts were rewritten and provided with a graphical user interface and added support for more formats. On 7 June 2007, Version 1 of the AcetoneISO2 series appeared, first under a Creative Commons license. With version 1.0.2 of 21 August 2007 was changed to version 3 of the GPL. For version 2.0.0 ( 24 January 2008) the application on C and Qt 4 has been ported.
